KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court on Wednesday restrained the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from allegedly harassing Federal Senior Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim, his family members and employees in the NICL scam.

The restraining order came from a division bench of the high court comprising Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Salahuddin Panwhar in a petition filed by Ali Hasan on behalf of Amin Fahim.

Rasheed A Razvi advocate appeared for the petitioner and submitted that Amin Fahim was being implicated in a fabricated case as he has returned all the money which was allegedly received by him against the sale of a 10 acre plot acquired by NICL on the orders of its chief Ayaz Khan Niazi.

He said that the money received by the petitioner had been returned after which no allegation remains against Amin Fahim, yet the FIA was not only harassing the petitioner but also his family members and employees.

“My client was also being put to media trial,” Rasheed Razvi said requesting the court to stop FIA agents from harassing the petitioner, family members and employees.

The bench while ordering the issuance of a notice of appearance to the respondent, the FIA director and the Ministry of Interior for July 26, restrained FIA men from any harassment to the petitioner.

The FIA is proceeding against Amin Fahim as it believes that despite return of money, criminal act remains
unnoticed and law demands criminal proceedings against the senior federal minister for obtaining monetary benefits through a shady deal.
