GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mehdi Shah has decided to include the sole lawmaker of MQM in his cabinet, official sources said on Wednesday. “The CM has been advised by the federal government to include Raja Azam Khan in the cabinet and based on that he would soon be made part of the G-B government,” said a PPP leader, adding that Shah would make the announcement himself during a ceremony in the next few days. Khan was the only lawmaker from MQM who was elected from Shigar valley of Baltistan after defeating a veteran PPP leader Imran Nadeem during the general elections. With the inclusion of Khan, the opposition would be left with two members of PML-N and Nawaz Naji, a nationalist party lawmaker. Recently, Shah made an announcement in Skardu that the opposition would “breathe its last” if the MQM member joins the cabinet.
