MIRPUR:

The city echoed with anti-government slogans by people who thronged the streets, on Saturday to protest against the price hike and unscheduled load shedding in the district.

Protesters marched through the city streets criticising the government for its failure in overcoming inflation, corruption and unemployment in the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

They also chanted slogans against the district price control committee for its inability to maintain control over prices of edible items.

The procession culminated at Central Shaheed Chowk, where speakers called upon the people to unite to oust the current regime and get rid of poor governance.

They said sky-rocketing inflation had made their lives miserable but the government was not interested in resolving people’s issues.
