9-1-1: Nashville has paid tribute to Chad Lowe’s daughter Fiona following her death at the age of 13 last month.

The tribute appeared at the end of the season two premiere, which aired on Thursday, October 15. A title card displayed the words “In Loving Memory”, alongside Fiona’s name and photograph.

Lowe, 58, has directed multiple episodes of 9-1-1: Nashville and 9-1-1: Lone Star, the latter of which starred his brother, Rob Lowe. He also portrayed his brother’s on-screen sibling during a brief storyline.

News of Fiona’s death emerged in September. Chad and his wife, Kim Painter, subsequently shared a statement expressing their grief and requesting privacy for their family.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the couple wrote, describing their daughter as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.”

They added: “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The couple also have two daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. On October 3, Mabel shared a heartfelt tribute to her younger sister on Instagram, writing: “I love you so much, Fiona ❤️. I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now.”

Lowe returned to social media on October 8, sharing a message about grief and healing. Two days later, he and Painter attended his nephew Matthew Lowe’s wedding.

9-1-1: Nashville airs on ABC on Thursdays at 9pm. ET.
