Russell Brand interrogation footage released as police investigate two more rape allegations
Four police interviews with Brand took place between November 2023 and July 2025

Police have released footage of Russell Brand being questioned during four interviews conducted between November 2023 and July 2025, after the comedian was found guilty of rape and sexual assault.
The Metropolitan Police released the recordings on November 5, following the verdict at Southwark Crown Court. Brand was convicted of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault involving four women. The offences took place between 2004 and 2009 at locations including a radio station, a DVD recording set and his home, according to police.
The jury cleared Brand of two rape charges and one count of attempted indecent assault. He was remanded in custody after the verdicts and is due to be sentenced on Monday, November 9. The judge said a significant custodial term was inevitable. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the date.
The released footage includes interviews in which Brand reads from a prepared statement. He describes a 2023 documentary about allegations against him as fictitious and says it contained false claims. He also argues that further accusations about other encounters were invented or reimagined.
Brand has denied wrongdoing and maintained that his sexual relationships were consensual. The documentary he referred to followed a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 programme Dispatches. Its broadcast prompted police enquiries into allegations made by women.
The investigation has not ended with the convictions. The Metropolitan Police said allegations of rape made by two other women remain under investigation. Brand has previously been interviewed under caution in connection with those complaints, and files have been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The submission of files does not mean further charges have been authorised. Prosecutors will consider the evidence as police continue their enquiries. Brand remains in custody ahead of sentencing, while the investigation continues.
