Chad Lowe’s daughter Mabel has honoured her late sister Fiona in Instagram post following her death

Chad Lowe’s 17-year-old daughter, Mabel, has honoured her late sister Fiona in an Instagram post following the 13-year-old’s death.
Mabel shared photos of herself and Fiona throughout their childhood on October 3, including images of the sisters dancing together when Fiona was a toddler and a dance portrait of Fiona.
“I love you so much, Fiona,” Mabel wrote. “I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now.”
“I will honour you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much,” she added.
The Lowe family confirmed Fiona’s death in a statement to PEOPLE on September 29.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family said, describing her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.”
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family added. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time,” they continued.
Fiona was the second of Chad and his wife Kim Painter’s three daughters. The couple are also parents to Mabel and 10-year-old Nixie.
A source told PEOPLE on September 30 that Fiona’s school and wider community were coming together to honour her memory.
“The school and community are very inclusive, artistic, a warm place. Parents are friends and most are involved with the school. This is a devastating time for the community,” the insider said.
The source added that the Lowe family is “very involved” with the school and described Fiona as “sweet, quiet and kind”, saying dance was her “biggest passion”.
Another source said Chad’s older brother, actor Rob Lowe, and the rest of the family were supporting Chad and Kim following Fiona’s death.
