Wladimir Klitschko has filed a petition seeking temporary guardianship of his and Hayden Panettiere’s daughter, Kaya, following the actress’ death at age 36.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Klitschko is asking to be appointed temporary guardian to protect Kaya’s interests as the sole beneficiary of Panettiere’s estate. The petition states that Kaya is not a California resident but is entitled to assets being handled through probate proceedings in the state.

Klitschko also raised concerns about property belonging to Panettiere’s estate. He claimed that federal agents accessed the actress’ home as part of an ongoing investigation and removed some of her belongings. He is seeking authority to represent the estate and recover any property that may be returned after the investigation concludes.

The petition also states that Panettiere had previously hired a security service to protect her home and belongings following concerns about unauthorised access to her property. According to the filing, the locks were changed after her death, while storage units containing designer clothing and accessories were moved as a precaution.

Klitschko further expressed concern that someone could attempt to take property belonging to Panettiere’s estate. He argued that a personal representative should be appointed to safeguard the actress’ home and belongings.

Panettiere and Klitschko welcomed Kaya in 2014. According to the court filing, Panettiere died without a will, meaning Kaya is expected to inherit her property, including her West Hollywood condominium, subject to the probate process.

Panettiere died on August 16 at the age of 36. The guardianship petition concerns the management and protection of her estate and Kaya’s inheritance.
