Stephen Root confirms he plays a drug trafficker in GTA 6

Stephen Root has confirmed that he is part of the voice cast for Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, revealing that he plays a drug trafficker named Brian Heder.
Root confirmed his involvement during an appearance on the podcast The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw, where he discussed his role in the upcoming video game. The actor said he suspected fans had already figured out that he was involved after his name appeared in connection with the project.
His character, Brian Heder, is a drug trafficker based in the Leonida Keys, one of the locations featured in GTA 6. Root described the experience of working on the game, adding another major video game credit to a career spanning film, television and voice acting.
Root is known for roles in projects including Office Space, Barry, Get Out and King of the Hill. His involvement in GTA 6 adds another high-profile name to the game's already star-studded cast.
Rockstar Games has been gradually revealing more details about GTA 6, which is set in the fictional state of Leonida and returns players to Vice City. The game is scheduled for release on May 26, 2027, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Root's confirmation also puts to rest speculation surrounding his connection to the game, with fans now knowing exactly which character he will portray when GTA 6 eventually arrives.
