Influencer Bunny Hedaya has explained why she agreed to let her husband’s ex-wife, Carrie Charles, move into their Tampa, Florida, home.

Charles temporarily moved in with Bunny and her husband, entrepreneur Harry Hedaya, while her nearby home undergoes an extended renovation. The unusual arrangement prompted speculation online, including claims that the three were involved in a romantic relationship.

Bunny, 35, has denied those rumours, saying her relationship with Charles is entirely platonic. She told PEOPLE that Charles feels more like an older sister to her than her husband’s former partner.

Bunny has been married to Harry, 58, for 12 years. Harry and Charles, also 58, had already been divorced for about a decade when Bunny met Harry. The former couple had established a co-parenting relationship, which helped Bunny develop a close bond with Charles over the years.

According to Bunny, Charles originally expected to stay with the family for about four months, but construction delays could extend the arrangement for more than a year. She said the situation works because she frequently travels with her nine-year-old son, whom she homeschools, while Charles also spends time in Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico.

The family’s large home allows everyone to have separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Bunny said there is little conflict when they are together, although Harry and Charles occasionally disagree over everyday matters.

Charles has also developed a close relationship with Bunny and Harry’s son.

Bunny said the experience has shown her that divorced couples and their families can maintain healthy relationships after separation. She also dismissed the online speculation, noting that Charles recently married someone else and is happy in her relationship.
