Kacey Musgraves briefly paused her Boston concert after a fire broke out above the stage during her performance at TD Garden on Friday night.

The incident occurred after Musgraves performed her song "Golden Hour". Video from the concert shows the Grammy-winning country singer finishing the song before sparks suddenly appeared above the stage. The sparks were followed by what appeared to be a small fire in the venue's rafters.

Musgraves stopped performing and looked towards the ceiling as the situation unfolded. She addressed the audience while waiting for the issue to be handled, acknowledging that something appeared to be on fire.

The singer also made light of the unexpected incident, joking about having "way too much hairspray" while standing beneath the flames. She later described the fire as "cute" while admitting that the situation was making her anxious.

Musgraves also joked that she only likes pyrotechnics when she knows they are planned, asking whether anyone had a "bedazzled fire extinguisher".

The stage fire added an unexpected moment to Musgraves' Middle of Nowhere tour, which launched in Chicago earlier this month. The tour features an elaborate production, including large floating disco ball-shaped stage props.

During the Boston show, Musgraves also performed a tribute to the late Dolly Parton with "Here You Come Again".

The Middle of Nowhere tour follows the cancellation of three previously scheduled dates, including its originally planned opening night. The tour was subsequently adjusted to begin on Musgraves' birthday.
