Zendaya calls filming 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' with Tom Holland a 'family affair'

Zendaya said she gets to "go to work every day with my best friend, the person that I love"

Zendaya is opening up about what it was like reuniting with fiancé Tom Holland for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Zendaya described filming the upcoming Marvel movie as a “dream,” saying she gets to “go to work every day with my best friend, the person that I love.”

The actress said working together on the Spider-Man franchise feels like “coming home” because she and Holland “grew up on those movies.” Zendaya also revealed the couple often brings their dogs to set, joking that filming has become a “family affair.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the fourth MCU Spider-Man film starring Holland as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ. The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.

Zendaya also spoke about working with Holland on The Odyssey, though she noted the pair do not share scenes in the film. Even so, she said watching Holland perform made her emotional and proud of him.

The couple first met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming and publicly confirmed their relationship in 2021 before becoming engaged in late 2024.
