Shah inspects major road projects, orders acceleration of work
Directs roads restoration within three months

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday conducted detailed inspections of two major ongoing infrastructure projects in Karachi - the BRT Red Line mixed traffic corridor and the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway - directing authorities to accelerate construction work and remove all obstacles causing delays.
Accompanied by provincial minister Saeed Ghani, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, and senior officials from relevant departments and utility companies, the chief minister reviewed progress at multiple sections of both projects.
During his visit to the BRT Red Line corridor, the CM inspected key locations from Dawood University to Numaish and Mosmiyat, including NIPA, Civic Centre, Urdu University, and Old Sabzi Mandi. He was briefed by TransKarachi CEO Zubair Channa on ongoing construction of mixed traffic lanes, drainage systems, and utility shifting works. Shah expressed concern over prolonged disruption faced by citizens and directed all agencies to ensure visible improvements in traffic management, drainage, and road restoration within three months. He ordered additional night shifts to speed up drainage work.
The CM noted that subgrade work on mixed traffic lanes from Numaish to Mosmiyat had been completed, while significant progress was made in water pipeline relocation and drainage installation. He also directed swift completion of flyover and U-turn projects near UK Apartments and Mumtaz Manzil, setting strict deadlines for completion within one month.
Officials from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) briefed him that emergency construction activities were ongoing on a war footing, with various components of the project showing gradual progress.
Later, Murad Ali Shah visited the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway from Shah Faisal Interchange to Kathore Interchange, inspecting interchanges and flyovers including Azeempura, Dumlottee, and Dumba Goth.
