Heatwave persists in city, interior Sindh
Strong sea breezes bring temporary relief; hot, humid conditions to prevail

Stronger-than-usual sea breezes were recorded in the city on Saturday, with wind speeds reaching 38 km/h, while the maximum temperature stood at 36.6°C, according to the Meteorological Department.
Officials forecast that hot and humid conditions will persist in Karachi for the next three days.
The weather remained generally hot and humid throughout the day. The minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 29.8°C, while humidity levels reached 79 per cent. The maximum temperature dropped slightly by 0.5°C compared to the previous day.
According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to strong southwesterly sea breezes continued to influence the city, with wind speeds recorded at up to 38 km/h (21 knots). In the coming days, sea breezes are expected to remain active, maintaining hot and humid conditions. Maximum temperatures are likely to range between 35°C and 37°C, while humidity may reach around 80 per cent in the morning and 70 per cent in the evening, making the 'feels-like' temperature significantly higher than the actual reading.
Meanwhile, a severe heatwave continues across various districts of rural Sindh. Temperatures were recorded at 47°C in Shaheed Benazirabad. Similar extreme conditions are expected in Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Naushahro Feroze, where temperatures may range between 47°C and 50°C.
In Tharparkar, Badin, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro, and Sanghar, temperatures are expected to remain between 44°C and 47°C.
Weather experts also predict that due to intense heat and the influence of western weather systems over northern regions, isolated areas of Qambar Shahdadkot, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar may experience dust storms and light to moderate rainfall with thunder on June 1.
