Reema Khan has spoken candidly about turning down a "bold" outfit at an Indian award ceremony, saying the decision was guided by a sense of cultural responsibility and personal values at a time when she believed she was representing her country on an international stage.

In a recent podcast appearance, the veteran actor explained that she has always exercised caution in both her wardrobe and public conduct, noting that she declined to wear a revealing dress at the event because it did not align with how she wished to present Pakistan abroad.

Reema argued that public figures carry a wider responsibility, stressing that artists must remain mindful of their language, character and behaviour, given their influence on audiences who often look to them as role models.

Reflecting on the broader media environment, she observed that controversy and negative narratives tend to dominate headlines, while constructive or positive contributions struggle to gain comparable visibility.

The conversation also turned introspective, with Reema sharing her views on life and spirituality, remarking that while many aspire to attain Heaven, fewer are prepared to confront mortality or live in a way that eases the burdens of others.

Expressing gratitude for her personal and professional journey, she said that true success lies not in fame but in humility and thankfulness, adding that life offers limited time to leave behind a meaningful and lasting impact.

Now based in the United States following her marriage, Reema remains one of Pakistan's most recognisable film personalities, known for a career that includes titles such as 'Koi Tujh Sa Kahan' and 'Nikah', as well as her collaborations with leading actors of her era.
