‘The End of Oak Street’: Anne Hathaway’s dinosaur thriller gets first trailer
Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor face dinosaurs in The End of Oak Street, a J.J. Abrams adventure arriving August 14

Anne Hathaway faces off against dinosaurs in the first trailer for The End of Oak Street the mysterious J.J. Abrams-produced adventure set for release on August 14.
Directed and written by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows), the film stars Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as members of the Platt family, whose suburban existence is upended when a cosmic event rips Oak Street from its foundations and transports their neighborhood to an unknown world. The trailer teases family tension, surreal imagery, and at least one dinosaur, confirming long-simmering speculation about the film’s creature elements.
The cast also includes Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, and an ensemble of supporting players. Behind the camera, Mitchell directs from his own screenplay, with Abrams producing alongside Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Mitchell, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper. The creative team includes cinematographer Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino, and costume designer Erin Benach.
Originally titled Flowervale Street, the project underwent a lengthy development period with multiple release date shifts before landing on its current August 14 theatrical slot. Warner Bros. will distribute the film in North America.
The trailer arrives during a packed year for Hathaway, who also stars in Mother Mary (April), The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May), Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (July), and Verity (October). With its blend of suburban drama, cosmic mystery, and dinosaur thrills, The End of Oak Street is shaping up to be one of summer’s most intriguing blockbuster offerings.
