Meghan Trainor responds after being linked to Ashley Tisdale’s toxic mom group claims

Meghan Trainor has addressed reports connecting her to the “toxic mom group” described in an essay by Ashley Tisdale, stating that she had limited involvement and expressing sympathy for those affected.

The discussion began after Tisdale published an article describing her experience within a group of friends, writing that she initially believed, “I’ve found my village,” before later feeling excluded from gatherings.

She eventually distanced herself, stating in a message to the group, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”

Although no individuals were named, media coverage linked Trainor to the group after photos surfaced showing her alongside Tisdale and others. In response, Trainor said she felt sympathy for Tisdale and the situation.

“I felt bad for Ashley. I felt bad that she was ever that sad, and I think it was just a lot of miscommunication and confusion. I don’t know what happened, but I wish them all the best,” she said.

Trainor added that Tisdale contacted her directly following the coverage. “I was like, ‘It’s all right, girl, like, the world’s a silly, crazy place, and they just want something to talk about,’” she recalled.

The singer explained that she had not been actively involved in the group, noting she had not seen the other members for around a year.

She also said she was no longer part of their group chat, adding, “There was a group chat, but, like, eventually they started a group chat without me because I wasn’t there. And I was like, ‘That’s totally fine.’”

Trainor described the situation as difficult for some non-public figures involved, saying it became a “nightmare” for those receiving attention online.

She also spoke about balancing her career and family life, noting, “It’s so hard to make mom friends [in] this season of life.”
