Nicole Kidman breaks silence on divorce from Keith Urban, says she’s focused on family

Nicole Kidman has spoken publicly for the first time about her divorce from country star Keith Urban, emphasizing her focus on family and moving forward with positivity.
In a recent interview with Variety, Kidman, 58, opened up about life after the end of their nearly 20‑year marriage, which was finalized in January after she filed for divorce in September 2025. Asked how she has been doing since the split, Kidman said, "I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good." She added that she is most grateful for keeping her family intact and supporting one another. "What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect," she said.
Kidman and Urban share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. Reflecting on her year, Kidman acknowledged that she had been quiet in 2025 as she navigated the personal upheaval. "Last year, I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell," she said, adding that 2026 feels like a new chapter. "Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’"
She also continues to focus on her career, with projects including the Practical Magic sequel and the crime thriller Scarpetta. Despite the very public end to her marriage, Kidman emphasized that her priority remains providing a stable and loving environment for her daughters as they transition into adulthood.
Both Kidman and Urban have agreed to maintain respect and privacy around the proceedings, prioritizing co‑parenting and family unity in the months since their separation.
