Model and Dallas actress Annabel Schofield dies at 62 after battling cancer
Annabel Schofield was best known for her role as Laurel Ellis on the hit 1980s TV drama Dallas

Annabel Schofield — the Welsh‑born supermodel‑turned‑actress who appeared on the iconic primetime soap opera Dallas — has died at the age of 62 after a battle with cancer.
Schofield passed away on February 28, 2026, in Los Angeles after battling brain cancer, her family confirmed. Born in Llanelli, Wales, on September 4, 1963, she first rose to international prominence as a model in the 1980s, gracing the covers of major fashion magazines and working with brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Rimmel and Revlon.
Her breakthrough on American television came in 1988 when she portrayed Laurel Ellis in twelve episodes of Dallas, one of the era’s most popular primetime dramas. The role marked a key transition from her modeling career into acting and introduced her to a broader audience.
In addition to her work on Dallas, Schofield appeared in several films and television projects and later founded her own production company, Bella Bene Productions. She also authored a semi‑autobiographical novel titled The Cherry Alignment, which drew on her experiences in the fashion and entertainment worlds.
Schofield shared updates about her health publicly in recent years, including a GoFundMe campaign she used to document her treatment journey. She underwent surgery in early 2026 to remove a mass from her nasal cavity as part of her fight against the disease.
Friends, colleagues and fans have paid tribute to Schofield’s vibrant spirit and creative legacy, remembering her both for her striking presence on the runway and her contributions to film and television.
She is survived by her mother; her father and sister predeceased her.
