Jay Shetty parts ways with 'On Purpose' as three-year iHeartMedia ends
Jay Shetty’s deal with iHeartMedia for his ‘On Purpose’ podcast ends after three years, as new deals are explored

Jay Shetty is parting ways with iHeartMedia, ending a three-year run for his popular health and wellness podcast On Purpose. Shetty’s contract with the iHeartPodcast Network, which began in April 2023, is set to expire in early July 2026. Since launching the show in 2019, Shetty has released over 800 episodes, growing a large and dedicated audience.
iHeartMedia had sought a four-year renewal for distribution and sales, but the two sides were unable to agree on terms. Shetty’s team is now in talks with other audio companies to explore new opportunities for the podcast and related content.
In an email to advertising partners, iHeartMedia executives Jenna Craig and Adrienne Pabst explained the decision to part ways. “We love Jay and have enormous respect for him and what we’ve accomplished together, including both doubling his audience and his revenue,” they wrote. “But as sometimes happens with professional relationships, we’re going in different directions. This is in no way a reflection on Jay or the quality of his content.”
The move comes shortly after Shetty announced the launch of Perfect Strangers Media, a new venture producing film, TV, and podcasts focused on stories highlighting human connection. The company has already closed two deals with Netflix for a scripted and an unscripted series, with additional projects in development.
Shetty’s departure from iHeartMedia is positioned as a natural evolution rather than a conflict, with the podcast remaining active through the remainder of the partnership. Both sides have expressed mutual respect and a willingness to support Shetty and the show until the end of the current term.
With the launch of Perfect Strangers Media, Shetty is focusing on expanding his creative reach beyond the podcast, exploring storytelling across multiple formats while maintaining the message of connection and personal growth that has defined On Purpose since its debut.
