Emily Ratajkowski’s Gucci runway walk sparks fierce online debate at Milan Fashion Week
Emily Ratajkowski’s Gucci runway walk divided the internet, even as fans praised her striking look

Emily Ratajkowski has found herself at the center of fashion week discourse after her runway appearance for Gucci during Milan Fashion Week ignited intense reactions online.
The 34-year-old model walked in Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2026/2027 show at Palazzo Delle Scintille, wearing a crystal-covered silver bodycon dress paired with embellished heels, diamond earrings and a matching purse. With a sculpted updo and bold smoky eye, Ratajkowski leaned fully into high-gloss glamour.
But while her look drew praise, her runway walk quickly became one of the most dissected moments of the show.

Clips circulating on social media prompted a wave of commentary, with some critics joking that her stride looked unsteady. Others compared it to “walking in trainers instead of heels,” suggesting a disconnect between the outfit’s drama and the energy of the walk.
Still, the criticism was far from unanimous. Many fans defended Ratajkowski, flooding posts with heart-eye emojis and praise for her confidence and presence. “Gorgeous dress! Owning that runway,” one supporter wrote, while others applauded her star power.
The show itself marked Gucci’s first collection under new artistic director Demna, formerly of Balenciaga. In show notes, Demna described his vision for Gucci as lighter, softer and more emotional, a shift some observers also debated online.
As Milan Fashion Week continues, one thing is clear: whether loved or critiqued, Emily Ratajkowski’s Gucci moment has everyone talking.
