Rachel Reid addressed fans in a heartfelt video, expressing gratitude for their support of her characters, the books, and the show. “I can’t really put into words what any of this feels like for an author. It’s beyond a dream come true,” she said.

Reid explained that recent months have been overwhelming, both professionally and personally, particularly as her Parkinson’s symptoms have worsened, which has slowed her writing process. “It’s made it difficult physically to write. So I’m definitely a lot slower,” she said. “I need to learn how to navigate and face it instead of ignoring it.”

To ensure Unrivaled is the best it can be, Reid decided to move the publication date to June 1, 2027. She reassured fans that pre-orders will be honored and that any planned bookstore midnight release events would still be appreciated.

“Ultimately, it’s going to be a much better book. And that’s the most important thing to me,” Reid said. “It’ll be better for the readers and better for the characters.” She also teased upcoming announcements later in the week that she hopes will excite fans even more.

Reid closed her message by thanking her readers for their patience and support. “I just want to make a really good book, and I just need a little more time to do that,” she said.
