Fortnite players call for D4vd removal from the game after controversy
Fortnite players are demanding Epic Games remove D4vd content amid growing backlash across the community

Fortnite players are calling on Epic Games to immediately remove singer D4vd from the battle royale following disturbing new details in his ongoing criminal case.
The artist, legally named David Anthony Burke, was charged Monday with the first-degree murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of human remains. During a court hearing Thursday, prosecutors revealed that Burke’s devices contained a “significant amount” of child sexual abuse material across more than 40 terabytes of evidence.

Burke has pleaded not guilty. His attorney maintains that evidence will prove he did not cause Hernandez’s death.
The news has ignited fury among Fortnite’s community. D4vd currently has two jam tracks in the game—“Locked and Loaded” and “What Are You Waiting For”—alongside the Feel It and Trophy Drop emotes and a personalized bundle launched in April 2025.
“Every time I see this sc*m’s name it’s always accompanied by worse news,” one Reddit user wrote. Another added, “D4vd doesn’t deserve to have one singular platform while he’s rotting in his cell.”
Epic Games has not yet responded to removal demands. All promotional posts for the D4vd collaboration remain live on Fortnite’s official X account.
This marks the first time a Fortnite collaborator has faced felony charges of this severity. The closest precedent remains Travis Scott, whose cosmetics have not returned since the Astroworld Festival tragedy in 2021.
As of now, D4vd’s emotes and tracks remain playable in Fortnite.
