Emma Mackey exits Nancy Meyers’ Paris Paramount weeks before production begins at Warner Bros

Emma Mackey has exited Nancy Meyers’ upcoming romantic comedy, reportedly titled Paris Paramount, just weeks before production was set to begin at Warner Bros..
According to industry insider Matt Belloni of Puck, no official reason has been provided for Mackey’s sudden departure. With filming imminent, Warner Bros. is now actively searching for a replacement to step into the leading role. The rest of the ensemble cast remains attached, including Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Penélope Cruz, and Owen Wilson.
The high-profile project has already faced development hurdles. Originally set up at Netflix, the film reportedly stalled when Meyers sought a $150 million production budget. The project later moved to Warner Bros., where costs were reduced by approximately $50 million, bringing the reported budget to just over $100 million.
Paris Paramount is scheduled for a Christmas Day 2027 theatrical release and marks Meyers’ first directorial effort in more than a decade. Her last feature, The Intern, starred Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro and was also distributed by Warner Bros.
The casting change introduces uncertainty as the studio works to keep the production timeline on track. Despite the setback, the film remains one of Warner Bros.’ most anticipated upcoming romantic comedies, driven by its established director and A-list ensemble cast.
