Apple Martin is addressing long-standing speculation about her appearance by revealing the only cosmetic procedure she has ever undergone.

The 21-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin shared the detail during her appearance on the February 12 episode of Vogue’s Beauty Secrets YouTube series.

“Time to come clean. I got lip filler one time,” Martin said, explaining that she received the treatment when she was 18. However, she quickly realized the look wasn’t for her. “I just thought it was too big,” she added, suggesting she preferred a more natural appearance.

Martin also pushed back against ongoing assumptions that her fuller lips are the result of repeated cosmetic enhancements. “But everyone seems to think that I have crazy lip filler,” she said, clarifying that her current look is achieved through makeup techniques rather than injections. According to Martin, she often “pouts” her lips and relies heavily on lip liner to create the illusion of added volume.

During the video, the Vanderbilt University senior walked viewers through what she described as her “lip filler optical illusion” method. She advised lining slightly above the natural lip shape but emphasized keeping it minimal for a believable result. The routine concluded with a plumping lip gloss, prompting Martin to joke, “You can see the lips are already plumping. Not lip filler, thank you!”

Beyond beauty tips, Martin has also been stepping into the fashion spotlight. She recently appeared in her first-ever fashion campaign, marking another milestone as she continues to build her public profile.

By openly discussing her brief experience with lip filler, Martin joins a growing number of young public figures choosing transparency around cosmetic procedures while promoting makeup as an alternative for achieving desired looks.
