Kelly Clarkson says next chapter is about balance as she ends 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'
Kelly Clarkson says stepping away from her talk show will give her balance and more time with her children

Kelly Clarkson is preparing for a new stage in her career after confirming that the current season of The Kelly Clarkson Show will be its last. The Grammy winner announced on Monday that the NBC daytime series will conclude after seven seasons.
A source said the singer is ready for a slower rhythm after years of daily television. “After years of an intense daily schedule, she’s excited to move at a different pace and have more flexibility to spend time with her kids without the structure of a daily show,” the source explained. “This change gives her the space to be more present at home while still doing the creative work she loves.”
According to the same source, Clarkson intends to continue making music and performing but does not want projects that require constant commitments.
“Kelly still wants to make music and perform, and she’s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind. For her, this next phase is about balance.”
Clarkson shared the news directly with fans on Instagram, thanking those involved in the programme. “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,” she wrote. She praised the band, crew, guests and viewers, adding that she was grateful to NBC for its support.
The 43-year-old said leaving the show would allow her to focus on her daughter River, 11, and son Remington, nine. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she said.
Clarkson moved to New York with her children in 2023 ahead of the programme’s fifth season. She previously finalised her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in 2022 after a lengthy legal process. Blackstock died from cancer in August 2025 at the age of 48.
