Justin Bieber turned heads at the 2026 Grammy Awards after unveiling a striking new back tattoo during a shirtless performance in Los Angeles on February 1.

The singer took the stage at Crypto.com Arena to perform his track Yukon from his 2025 album Swag, which earned four nominations at this year’s ceremony. Dressed only in light blue basketball shorts and socks, Bieber’s performance put the detailed upper-back tattoo fully on display. The artwork appears to depict a long-haired figure framed within a rectangular outline.

Fans quickly took to social media to speculate about the tattoo’s meaning. Some suggested it resembled his wife, Hailey Bieber, while others believed it could be a religious image. “I thought it was Jesus,” one user wrote on X, while another joked that tattooing his wife’s face would be “the bare minimum.”

Despite the online debate, Bieber was joined by Hailey on the red carpet, where the couple coordinated their looks for the night. Inside the ceremony, Hailey was seen cheering him on and laughing along as host Trevor Noah poked fun at the singer during his opening monologue.

Noah praised Bieber’s successful comeback year, highlighting his Grammy nominations and his new role as a father. “Better than any Grammy,” the host joked, “he’s come back as a new dad.”

The performance marked one of the most talked-about moments of the night, cementing Bieber’s return to the Grammys spotlight with both music and new ink.
