PlaqueBoyMax addressed his Grammy loss with composure after making history as the first Twitch streamer to earn a nomination at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

The streamer-turned-musician was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Victory Lap,” a collaborative single with Fred again.. and Skepta, but ultimately lost the category to Tame Impala’s “End of Summer.”

Despite the setback, PlaqueBoyMax quickly reassured fans during a live Twitch broadcast that there were no hard feelings about the result. “We lost. No rigged comment. They won fair and square,” he told viewers, emphasizing respect for the winners while shutting down speculation about controversy.

The nomination itself marked a major milestone in the evolving relationship between live streaming and the traditional music industry. Released in June 2025, “Victory Lap” was produced in part during live Twitch sessions, allowing fans to witness the creative process in real time. The track, which blends elements of hip-hop, dubstep, and grime, highlighted how digital creators are increasingly influencing mainstream music.

Competition in the category was fierce, with nominees including Disclosure and Anderson .Paak, Kaytranada, and Skrillex. While PlaqueBoyMax did not take home the Grammy, his groundbreaking nomination signaled growing recognition for artists emerging from nontraditional platforms.

Adding to the celebratory tone, the artist also received the Billboard Disruptor Award during Grammy Week, honoring his role in bridging streaming culture and commercial music success.

PlaqueBoyMax encouraged supporters to stay optimistic, reminding them not to dwell on losses but to focus on future opportunities. With a historic nomination already under his belt, industry watchers say his trajectory suggests that this Grammy moment may be only the beginning of a larger music career.
