Taylor Swift reportedly shaken by release of personal messages tied to lawsuit
Taylor Swift reacts after private conversations become public in Lively case

Taylor Swift is reportedly upset after private text messages between her and longtime friend Blake Lively were unsealed as part of Lively’s ongoing legal battle with actor and director Justin Baldoni, according to a new report.
Sources tell US Weekly that the Grammy-winning singer felt “exposed” and “violated” after the messages became public, describing the experience as emotionally difficult.
The release of the texts allegedly left Swift feeling that something deeply personal had been taken out of her control, a situation that did not sit well with the notoriously private star.
The messages were unsealed last week ahead of a summary judgment hearing connected to Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni, her co-star and director in It Ends With Us. The court documents revealed candid conversations between Swift and Lively, including Swift’s blunt remarks about Baldoni and an exchange that hinted at tension in the women’s friendship.
In one text sent before a New York Times article detailing allegations against Baldoni, Swift allegedly suggested he was aware damaging information was about to surface. Other messages showed Lively checking in with Swift about their relationship, expressing concern that she had been a “bad friend” and acknowledging that something felt off between them.
Swift reportedly responded by admitting she had sensed a shift in Lively’s tone and communication, though she also recognized how overwhelming the legal situation must have been. She compared some of Lively’s recent messages to impersonal corporate emails and said she missed the version of her friend who spoke freely and humorously, rather than carefully and collectively.
While the exchange appeared to end on a reconciliatory note, insiders have since claimed that the two have had little to no contact since late 2025. Previous reports also suggested Swift felt she had been “used” during Lively’s conflict with Baldoni.
Representatives for Swift have not publicly commented on the unsealed texts.
Lively’s lawsuit stems from allegations that surfaced in mid-2024 following the New York City premiere of It Ends With Us. She later filed a sexual harassment complaint and formal lawsuit against Baldoni, who denied the claims and countersued for $400 million. That countersuit has since been dismissed, while Lively’s case remains ongoing.
The unexpected exposure of Swift’s private correspondence has added another layer of scrutiny to an already high-profile legal battle, one that now appears to have strained a once-close Hollywood friendship.
