Nintendo has expanded Animal Crossing: New Horizons with its 3.0 update, introducing The Legend of Zelda-themed items and new unlockable villagers. Fans can now invite Tulin and Mineru to their islands and access a range of Zelda-inspired décor and outfits.

To bring Tulin and Mineru to your island, players must scan specific Zelda amiibo at the Nook Stop machine in the Resident Services building after establishing a campsite.

Once the characters visit as campers and players complete their requests, they can be invited to permanently reside on the island, provided there is a free villager slot.

Tulin is classified as a male jock villager, while Mineru is a female snooty villager. Compatible amiibo include various iterations of Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and Breath of the Wild champions.

Zelda-themed items are also available through the Nook Shopping app under the “Promotion” tab. Scanning any of the compatible amiibo unlocks items such as the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Triforce, Fairy Bottle, Silent Princess flowers, and character costumes.

Players without amiibo can receive items via a friend with Nintendo Switch Online, who can send them as a gift, or by physically delivering the items to the island.

These additions mark one of the largest crossover content drops in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, allowing players to personalise their islands with iconic Zelda designs and characters.

Fans have praised the update for merging fan-favourite Nintendo universes, while also giving players new villagers to interact with.
