Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant share New York ice skating date at Rockefeller Center

Keanu Reeves and his partner Alexandra Grant recently enjoyed a surprise date night in New York City, taking to the ice at the Rockefeller Center rink and sharing the experience publicly for the first time.

Grant offered an inside look at the evening in a post shared on Instagram on January 13, explaining that the outing followed Reeves’ run of Waiting for Godot.

“Last Monday, after the run of Waiting for Godot, Keanu invited me on a date in New York City,” she wrote alongside images of the couple skating together. She also thanked the rink’s staff, adding, “You made us feel right at home, cheering us on, and offering us hot cocoa and pompom hats.”

The night marked a personal milestone for Reeves, who had not skated for decades after giving up ice hockey as a teenager. Grant detailed his return to the ice with humour, writing, “Getting back on ice after a few decades and moving from hockey skates to figure skates and #$%@ toe picks is no joke!”

Grant and Reeves who have been together since 2018, were seen holding hands as they skated, later posing for photographs beneath the illuminated Rockefeller Christmas Tree. The artist said the experience also gave them a renewed appreciation for professional figure skaters ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

“And cheers to the next rocking generation of skaters and Olympians!” she wrote. “We're inspired by how you're choosing to train and eat on your terms, what music you prefer, your awesome style choices, finding joy in a sport that requires so many hours of practice to perfect. We're rooting for you @milanocortina2026!”

Grant concluded by praising Reeves for the surprise and the spirit of the evening. “So yes, always yes to connecting!” she wrote. “Yes to joy, yes to getting out there even when beyond tired, yes to trying something new, yes to doing it your way, and staying open to surprise!”

While the couple have largely kept their relationship private, Grant has increasingly shared occasional glimpses into their life together, including a heartfelt message celebrating Reeves’ 61st birthday last September.
