BTS reunion world tour tipped to generate up to $1bn as group return to global stage
BTS are forecast to earn up to $1bn from their comeback tour, as the group announce 79-date global run

BTS have announced a 79-date world tour marking their return to live performances after a four-year hiatus, with industry estimates suggesting the comeback could generate more than $1bn in combined revenue.
The tour will begin with three shows at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on April 9 2026, before travelling across Asia, Europe and North America.
Dates have been confirmed in cities including London, Tokyo, Munich, Sydney and Los Angeles, with further shows planned for Japan, the Middle East and other regions in 2027.
According to Billboard, the projected earnings of more than $1bn (£740m) would be derived from ticket sales, merchandise, licensing, album sales and streaming activity linked to the group’s reunion.
BTS’s previous global tour earned approximately $246m (£182m), setting records for a K-pop act and making the band the first Korean group to headline Wembley Stadium.
The scale of the new tour, combined with pent-up demand following the group’s hiatus, is expected to significantly exceed earlier box office figures. The concerts will feature a 360-degree stage design, allowing for increased seating capacity at stadium venues and higher potential ticket revenue per show.
The earnings forecast is also notable for Hybe, the group’s parent company. During BTS’s hiatus in 2024, Hybe reported an operating profit decline of nearly 37.5%, which it attributed in part to the group’s temporary break while members completed mandatory military service.
Demand indicators point to strong sales. More than seven million fans reportedly tuned in to a live broadcast announcing the comeback, and the release of the new album date earlier this year caused the fan platform Weverse to crash due to traffic.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to fans on January 22, followed by general sale two days later. For many fans, the tour will mark their first opportunity to see BTS perform live in seven years, a factor expected to further drive global revenue and position the tour among the highest-grossing of 2026.
