DERA GHAZI KHAN:

Unidentified militants blew up a girls' primary school with explosive material in the remote Koh-e-Suleman border region of Dera Ghazi Khan, partially damaging the school building and spreading fear in the area.

According to officials, the attack took place in Basti Jotar of Union Council Mithwan, within the jurisdiction of Border Military Police (BMP) Police Station Lakhani.

The Government Girls' Primary School Jotar was targeted using explosives, resulting in partial destruction of the structure.

No casualties were reported.

Security agencies, law enforcement personnel and a bomb disposal squad rushed to the site after the incident and cordoned off the area.

A joint search operation was carried out; however, no arrests could be made.

The bomb disposal squad has been directed to submit a detailed report regarding the nature and quantity of the explosive device used.

Sources said the attackers are suspected to be linked to the banned militant group Fitna-al-Khawarij, with the apparent aim of sabotaging girls' education in the area.

Deputy Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan and Senior Commandant Border Military Police, Usman Khalid, told The Express Tribune that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered an FIR at CTD Police Station DG Khan under relevant sections, including the Anti-Terrorism Act.
