Model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner has addressed longstanding internet speculation about her sexuality, speaking candidly about persistent rumors that she is “secretly a lesbian” and calling out the hurtful tone behind much of the online commentary.

“Then there’s the whole side of the internet that thinks I’m a lesbian,” Jenner said during a recent podcast appearance. “You want to know what really bothers me? How mean people are about it.”

She explained that the speculation often comes across as judgmental rather than supportive. “It’s not with, like, a welcoming arm of like, ‘Hey, if you were, yes, come join.’ It’s not kind. It’s very mean. It’s very like, ‘What the f---- are you doing?’”

Jenner clarified that she does not identify as gay, while also emphasising that she would have no issue being honest about her sexuality if that were the case.

“I understand that coming out is not an easy thing for anybody, if not most people,” she said, adding, “I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was. … I’d have no problem being that.”

She also pushed back against narratives suggesting she might be hiding her sexuality for professional reasons. “I’ve seen really f------ up things that are like, ‘It’s bad for business,’ and I’m like, ‘What? How? I don’t understand it,’” Jenner said.

Addressing the rumors directly, she stated, “All’s to say, as of today, I am not. I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life.”

Despite years of speculation, Jenner has largely kept her personal life private, even as she has been publicly linked to high-profile partners in the past.

She made it clear that online assumptions about her sexuality do not reflect her reality and reiterated her desire to define her life on her own terms.
