Frank Sinatra ‘loathed’ Donald Trump, daughter Nancy tells MAGA supporter
Nancy Sinatra tells an online commenter that Frank Sinatra “loathed” Donald Trump, citing past remarks

Nancy Sinatra reiterated her long-stated view that her father, Frank Sinatra, “loathed” Donald Trump, responding to comments on social media that suggested otherwise.
The exchange followed a video shared on X in which users claimed to show immigration officers confronting Latino construction workers.
Reacting to the footage, Sinatra wrote that the scene did not reflect the America her father recognised and added that he would have been “devastated,” stating that Trump was “so wrong in so many ways.”
One user replied that Frank Sinatra would have supported Trump, prompting Nancy to respond that the commenter should “do some homework” before making the claim. She wrote: “My dad LOATHED Trump.”
This was not the first time Nancy Sinatra addressed the topic. In 2017, reports suggested that Trump planned to use Frank Sinatra’s classic song My Way during his inauguration.
Nancy responded on Twitter at the time: “Just remember the first line of the song.” The track opens with the lyric: “And now, the end is near.” She also expressed that she wished Trump well, adding that she did not believe “anyone tries to be a bad president.”
Discussion about Sinatra’s opinion resurfaced again in 2020 when Trump paid tribute to the singer in a speech and proposed his inclusion in a planned monument to American historical figures.
Actress Mia Farrow subsequently wrote online: “Frank Sinatra would have loathed Donald Trump,” to which Nancy replied: “He actually did loathe him.”
Anecdotes about tensions between the two date back decades. In his 2017 memoir, The Way It Was: My Life with Frank Sinatra, Sinatra’s former manager Elliot Weisman claimed that in 1990 Frank told Trump to “go f*** himself” after Trump objected to the singer’s financial terms for performing at the opening of an Atlantic City casino.
Frank Sinatra’s political views shifted during his lifetime, beginning with support for Democratic figures such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy before later endorsing Republican leaders, including Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon.
