Gillian Flynn and Darren Aronofsky to develop new erotic thriller for Sony Pictures
Details on the new thriller developed by the 'Gone Girl' writer and 'Black Swan' director are being kept confidential

Gillian Flynn and Darren Aronofsky are collaborating on an original erotic thriller that is being developed at Sony Pictures.
The partnership brings together the author of Gone Girl and the director of Black Swan for the first time. Flynn is writing the project, while Aronofsky has finalised a deal to produce through his Protozoa Pictures banner.
The film is backed by 1.21, the company known for productions including Austin Butler’s Elvis and the Dave Franco and Alison Brie-led horror feature Together.
Plot details on the new thriller are being kept confidential as the project moves through development.
Flynn’s previous projects include Sharp Objects, adapted into an HBO limited series starring Amy Adams, and Dark Places, which became a feature film with Charlize Theron. S
he also co-wrote Widows with Steve McQueen and has been working on an adaptation of her short story The Grownup. In addition, Flynn is writing a reimagining of Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, with Tim Burton set to direct for Warner Bros.
Aronofsky recently completed Caught Stealing, a crime thriller led by Austin Butler and produced by Sony’s Columbia Pictures.
Earlier this year, Aronofsky entered early talks to direct A24’s Breakthrough with Dwayne Johnson attached, and he is also linked to a reboot of Cujo for Netflix. Additionally, he is producing the horror film Pendulum, featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor and Norman Reedus.
