Netflix’s ‘Diddy: The Reckoning’ trailer reveals Sean Combs’ final days before his 2024 arrest in tense footage

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for “Diddy: The Reckoning,” a four-part documentary series exploring the rise, downfall, and criminal conviction of Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The docuseries, executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and directed by Emmy winner Alexandria Stapleton, offers an unfiltered look at Combs’ legal troubles, industry power, and the cultural reckoning surrounding his case.

The trailer opens with striking footage filmed six days before Combs’ September 2024 arrest, capturing the embattled music mogul on the phone saying, “We need to find someone who will work with us who has worked in the dirtiest of dirty businesses. We are losing.” The series’ synopsis describes the project as a “staggering examination” of Combs’ career and public collapse. Earlier this year, Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, while avoiding more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

Director Alexandria Stapleton told Tudum that the documentary is not only about Combs or his accusers but also the culture that allowed his power to flourish. She referenced Cassie’s high-profile lawsuit, noting that the case “could go a million different directions” and served as a test of how society handles allegations against powerful men.

The series integrates intimate footage filmed with Combs’ knowledge, as well as interviews with former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day and jurors from the trial. The material aims to examine celebrity worship, accountability, and the public’s shifting standards in the post-#MeToo era.

“Diddy: The Reckoning” premieres December 2 on Netflix.
