Ticketmaster has issued a response to criticism from UK singer Olivia Dean, who condemned inflated resale prices for her upcoming 2026 tour.Dean took to Instagram over the weekend to express frustration after seeing some resale listings priced far above face value.

Dean described the resale pricing as “vile” and contrary to her wishes, adding that live performances should remain affordable and accessible. She urged ticketing platforms to “be better” and find solutions that prevent excessive markups.

On Thursday, Ticketmaster announced that it will cap all future resale prices for Dean’s The Art of Loving tour. The company also confirmed it will refund fans who already paid above-face-value resale prices through Ticketmaster’s platform.

In its statement, the company said it shares Dean’s commitment to making live music accessible and emphasized that it cannot enforce resale policies on third-party marketplaces. However, Ticketmaster noted that it is taking steps to “lead by example” and hopes its actions will help fans attend more shows or discover new artists.

Recent listings highlight the pricing issue: tickets for Dean’s Baltimore show originally ranged from $54 to $166, but resale tickets on StubHub were priced between $202 and $507. Verified resale tickets through Ticketmaster were unavailable for Baltimore and for Dean’s sold-out Madison Square Garden dates.

The update follows Dean’s recent trip to Sydney, where she attended the ARIA Awards and performed a one-off headline show ahead of her wider 2026 arena tour. The Art of Loving has been met with strong critical praise, with Rolling Stone’s Larisha Paul highlighting Dean’s commanding stage presence and musical precision.

Dean’s call for fairer ticketing practices has added momentum to the ongoing discussion about resale regulation within the live music industry.
