Megan Thee Stallion declined a major brand partnership with Call of Duty after learning she would appear in the game as a shootable character, according to court testimony in her ongoing defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz. The information was shared in court on November 19 by Daniel Kinney, Senior Vice President of Branding & Strategic Partnerships at Roc Nation, as reported by legal journalist Meghann Cuniff.

Kinney testified that Megan initially considered the opportunity but immediately refused the deal once she learned how her likeness would be used. He told the court that the idea of being portrayed as a target in the game “triggered her,” referring to the trauma she continues to experience from the 2020 shooting involving rapper Tory Lanez. Following her decision to withdraw, the role was ultimately offered to Nicki Minaj—an artist with whom Megan has had public tensions.

Additional testimony came from Megan’s former manager, Travis “T-Farris” Farris, who described the severe personal toll caused by several social media posts by Gramz. Farris specifically referenced an incident in which Gramz allegedly shared a deepfake pornographic video of the rapper. He recalled Megan becoming deeply upset when discussing the footage and said the emotional impact led her to seek extensive therapy, which he stated cost approximately $240,000. His testimony aligns with Megan’s legal claim that Gramz spread harmful falsehoods about her.

Psychologist Dr. Lenore Walker, who diagnosed Megan with PTSD, also appeared in court. Walker previously attributed the rapper’s trauma to the high-profile shooting as well as the earlier losses of her mother and grandmother.

Megan Thee Stallion filed the defamation suit against Milagro Gramz in 2024, accusing the blogger of deliberately spreading misinformation about the Lanez case and amplifying harassment against her. Lanez, who was convicted of shooting Megan and is serving a 10-year prison sentence, recently appeared for a third deposition in the lawsuit after unsuccessfully attempting to avoid it through a protective order. According to court records, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lisette Reid rejected the request, determining that the civil deposition would not interfere with his criminal appeal.

The case continues to unfold as additional witnesses and evidence are presented.
