Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott in first ‘Scream 7’ trailer
Neve Campbell returns to battle Ghostface in the chilling first trailer for ‘Scream 7,’ hitting theaters Feb. 27, 2026

Paramount Pictures has dropped the highly anticipated first trailer for Scream 7, confirming the return of Neve Campbell as iconic final girl Sidney Prescott.
The upcoming sequel marks a major comeback for the long-running horror franchise, with Sidney once again facing off against the masked killer Ghostface.
Announced in August 2023, Scream 7 faced several production delays due to the Hollywood strikes and multiple behind-the-scenes shakeups. The film was originally set to be directed by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day), but he exited the project in December 2023 and was replaced by Scream creator Kevin Williamson.
The new installment also sees major casting changes. Melissa Barrera, who starred in the last two films as Sam Carpenter, was removed following her social media comments about the Israel-Hamas war. Her on-screen sister, played by Jenna Ortega, exited the project due to scheduling conflicts with Netflix’s Wednesday.
Despite these changes, the film reunites several familiar faces, including Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown. In a surprising twist, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Scott Foley are returning to portray their previously deceased characters. New additions to the cast include Isabel May, Mckenna Grace, Joel McHale, Anna Camp, and Mark Consuelos.
With Neve Campbell leading the charge once again, Scream 7 promises to blend nostalgia with fresh terror for a new generation of horror fans. The film slashes its way into theaters on February 27, 2026.
