Actress Isabelle Tate, known for her appearance in the pilot episode of 9-1-1: Nashville, has died at the age of 23.

Her talent agent, Kim McCray of The McCray Agency, confirmed that Tate passed away on October 19 from a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited neurological disorder that affects the nerves in the arms and legs.

McCray said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly that Tate “passed away peacefully” and that her family is requesting privacy as they process the loss.

In an Instagram story, the agency described the disease as a “rare multisystem, multiorgan condition” that causes progressive muscle weakness, sensory loss, and other complications.

Tate, who had recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, had been open about her diagnosis.

In a 2022 Instagram post, she reflected on using a wheelchair at times, writing, “If I was to live my life to the fullest, I need to use a wheelchair at times… This has been a difficult journey for me because having to accept help and surrender to the progression of this condition has been extremely hard.”

Her family described her as someone who “wanted to change the world” and loved volunteering, particularly with animals.

“Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others,” they shared in her obituary.

Tate portrayed Julie in the 9-1-1: Nashville pilot, a character who used a wheelchair and appeared in a club scene opposite Hunter McVey.

Following news of her death, McVey paid tribute to his co-star, recalling her kindness and positive spirit on set. “I got the pleasure of talking with her after the scene, and she had such great energy,” he said. “You could tell she brought joy to a lot of people.”

The McCray Agency encouraged donations to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association in Tate’s memory.
