Louis Tomlinson lashes out at Logan Paul over Liam Payne interview

Louis Tomlinson calls Logan Paul a “horrible little f---er” while reflecting on Liam Payne’s tragic death

Louis Tomlinson has reignited a bitter feud with YouTuber Logan Paul, years after the influencer’s controversial interview with Tomlinson’s late bandmate Liam Payne. In a new interview with The Independent, the former One Direction singer didn’t hold back his feelings, saying he would “forever despise” Paul for his role in exploiting Payne’s vulnerable state.

The remark came as Tomlinson reflected on One Direction’s global fame and the pressures that followed the band’s split in 2016. The 33-year-old singer discussed how social media influencers have blurred the line between journalism and entertainment, pointing directly to Paul’s 2022 Impaulsive podcast with Payne as an example of this toxic crossover.

“I f---ing forever despise [Logan Paul], horrible, horrible little f---er,” Tomlinson told the publication. He criticised the lack of empathy shown by influencers who treat interviews like viral stunts rather than meaningful conversations.

The 2022 Impaulsive episode sparked backlash when Payne appeared to drink whiskey while discussing private matters about the band, including harsh comments about Zayn Malik. At the time, Payne’s behaviour was widely criticised, and he later apologised, admitting he had been “angry and frustrated” with his career.

Following Payne’s death in 2024 after a tragic fall from a Buenos Aires hotel balcony, Tomlinson has often spoken about the grief and disbelief that followed. The singer revealed earlier this month that Payne had been the most vocal about reuniting the band, adding that the tragedy “put a pin” in any chance of a One Direction comeback.

By revisiting the podcast that contributed to Payne’s lowest moments, Tomlinson appears to be defending his late friend’s dignity while condemning the exploitative nature of influencer media. Paul has not responded to the comments, but fans have been quick to rally behind Tomlinson, praising his loyalty and calling the statement “long overdue.”

The exchange highlights an ongoing cultural tension between musicians and digital personalities, one that continues to blur the lines between accountability and exposure in celebrity culture.
