Daytime Emmys 2025 winners announced as General Hospital and Drew Barrymore lead major categories

General Hospital and Drew Barrymore were among the top winners at the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena

The 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place on Friday, October 17, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, celebrating the best in daytime television.

The ceremony, hosted by Mario Lopez for the fourth time, recognised excellence across talk shows, dramas, and entertainment news programming.

General Hospital emerged as the evening’s top winner, securing several of the most prominent awards, including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.

The long-running soap also triumphed in multiple performance categories, with Nancy Lee Grahn winning Outstanding Lead Actress for her portrayal of Alexis Davis and Jonathan Jackson earning Outstanding Supporting Actor as Lucky Spencer.

Paul Telfer won Outstanding Lead Actor for his performance as Xander Kiriakis in Days of Our Lives, while Susan Walters of The Young and the Restless took home Outstanding Supporting Actress. Alley Mills received the award for Outstanding Guest Performance for her role as Heather Webber in General Hospital.

In the talk show categories, Live With Kelly and Mark won Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, while Drew Barrymore secured her first Emmy as Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host for The Drew Barrymore Show. Entertainment Tonight claimed the award for Outstanding Entertainment News Series.

The culinary category saw Delicious Miss Brown win Outstanding Culinary Series, while General Hospital also swept the Outstanding Writing and Directing Team awards.

The 2025 Daytime Emmys were broadcast live on watch.theemmys.tv and the Emmys app, allowing fans to stream the event and celebrate their favourite shows and personalities.

The full list of winners highlighted the continued success of long-standing daytime favourites alongside first-time honourees, reflecting the evolving landscape of television entertainment.
