Amazon Studios has officially greenlit the highly anticipated sequel to its hit romantic comedy Red, White & Royal Blue.

The upcoming film has been titled Red, White & Royal Wedding, marking the next chapter in the beloved story starring Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez.

Director Jamie Babbit, known for her acclaimed work on But I’m a Cheerleader, will take the helm of the sequel. The screenplay will be written by Gemma Burgess, Matthew López, and Casey McQuiston, the author of the original bestselling novel that inspired the franchise.

The film is being produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter under Berlanti Schechter Films, alongside Michael McGrath, Matthew López, and Jennifer Salke of Sullivan Street Productions. McQuiston will also serve as an executive producer, ensuring the adaptation stays true to the novel’s spirit.

While plot details remain under wraps, the sequel is expected to continue the love story between Britain’s Prince Henry and America’s First Son, Alex Claremont-Diaz, following the romantic events of the first movie. The 2023 film became a breakout hit on Prime Video, praised for its charm, chemistry, and LGBTQ+ representation.

With a new director and creative team on board, Red, White & Royal Wedding aims to build on the success of its predecessor and deliver another heartfelt story for fans around the world.
