Model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen is speaking out in support of her friend Meghan Markle, calling the Duchess of Sussex “strong” and “kind” despite ongoing public scrutiny.
The Cravings cookbook author addressed their friendship during the Hello Sunshine Shine Away event on Saturday, where she shared admiration for Meghan while criticizing those who constantly judge her.
“I adore her. I really adore her. I think she is so incredibly strong,” Teigen told People, emphasizing that Meghan has been unfairly labeled as “polarizing” by critics. “It is insane to me how polarizing she is for so many different people when she really is just such a kind, good person who wants the best for her friends, her family, and her children.”
Teigen added that Meghan “lives simply” and doesn’t act for public approval. “People come up with all these different things that she could be about or what she wants, but it’s not that complicated,” she said. “People are always going to read into what they want to believe.”
The comments come after Meghan featured Teigen in the second season of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, sparking debate among viewers due to Teigen’s past online bullying controversy involving Courtney Stodden. Still, Teigen’s defense makes it clear she stands firmly by Meghan’s side.
When asked about potential playdates between their children, Teigen joked that she “never leaves the house” but would love for their families to connect someday.
Both women have faced intense media backlash, and Teigen’s latest remarks highlight the shared pressure they endure as public figures trying to lead normal lives.
