Demi Lovato’s former fiancé Max Ehrich has been arrested in Florida on a domestic violence charge after allegedly attacking his mother. The 34-year-old actor, best known for his role in The Young and the Restless, was taken into custody in St Lucie County during the early hours of 8 October. He was charged with battery on a person aged 65 or older before being released later that day after paying a 1,000 dollar bond.

According to reports obtained by TMZ, Ehrich had been abusing nitrous oxide before the incident and was allegedly livestreaming the altercation at the time. Police were called by a neighbour after Ehrich’s mother fled their home to seek help. She reportedly told officers her son had been acting erratically and that he had a history of inhalant abuse. The arrest record also mentioned the Florida Mental Health Act, known as the Baker Act, which applies to individuals in need of mental health crisis intervention.

In the days before his arrest, Ehrich’s social media posts had raised concern among fans. His last Instagram post included a screenshot of a message reading “My heart is broken :(” along with his mother’s phone number and a request for followers to send her money. Comments under the post were filled with pleas for him to seek help, with one follower warning that he was in danger of self-destruction.

Ehrich gained public attention in 2020 during his whirlwind romance with pop star Demi Lovato. The couple became engaged just four months after meeting, with Lovato declaring she had never felt so loved. However, they called off the engagement two months later, with sources at the time describing it as a difficult but mutual decision to focus on their careers.

The latest arrest has sparked widespread concern among fans and renewed public discussion about mental health struggles among young Hollywood stars. As of now, Ehrich has not issued a public statement regarding the charges or the alleged incident. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation remains ongoing.
