Riot Games has delayed the release of its annual League of Legends Worlds music video after confirming that it is editing out player Bwipo due to his recent comments about women in esports.

The League of Legends World Championship, running from October 14 to November 9 across Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, typically launches alongside a themed music video featuring competing players and in-game champions. However, this year’s video will now be released on October 13, just one day before the event begins.

According to a statement from the official LoL Esports account, Bwipo was removed from the video following remarks he made on a Twitch stream in September 2025, where he suggested women should avoid competitive gaming during their menstrual cycles.

“Bwipo was featured in the original cut, but given his recent comments, we decided it wouldn’t be right to showcase him in a piece that represents LoL Esports, pro players, and fans,” the statement read. “Editing him out required significant changes during the final stages of production, and because he was the player representing the Americas, that region will not appear in this year’s video as originally intended.”

The post added that the decision was not part of any official sanction but reflected how Riot Games wished to represent its global community.

Bwipo’s comments sparked widespread criticism online. He later apologised, stating, “I’m sorry to those I hurt. I regret using my platform to fuel vitriol and sexism instead of support.”

FlyQuest subsequently benched him for one match, though Bwipo remains eligible to compete at Worlds 2025 later this month.
