Kayla Nicole has appeared to respond to the release of Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl, following fan speculation that one of its songs references her past relationship with American football player Travis Kelce.
Swift’s track “Opalite” has drawn attention online for lyrics that some listeners believe refer to Kelce’s previous relationship with Nicole, which lasted around five years beginning in 2017.
In the song, Swift sings, “You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose,” leading to speculation that the lines allude to the couple’s past.
Shortly after the album’s release on October 3, Nicole shared a short clip on her Instagram Stories from America’s Next Top Model.

In the video, contestant Eva Marcille responds to Tyra Banks’ question about competition by saying, “I don’t compare myself to other girls … I’m no comparison to anyone else.” Fans quickly interpreted the post as a subtle reaction to Swift’s song.
Swift, who became engaged to Kelce earlier this year, has never publicly commented on his relationship history. Nicole, meanwhile, has addressed online speculation before, telling PEOPLE in 2023 that she chose to distance herself from the public narrative to “protect” her peace.
When asked recently about the attention surrounding Swift and Kelce, Nicole said her biggest lesson of 2025 was that “the opinions of others are only as big as you make them.”
