Taylor Swift has set another milestone, this time on Spotify, with her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl.

The project has become the most pre-saved Countdown Page in Spotify history, crossing over 5 million pre-saves before release. The record surpasses Swift’s own 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, which previously held the top spot.

The Countdown Page for The Life of a Showgirl launched on August 14 as part of a global campaign designed by Spotify and Swift’s team. The rollout combined digital promotions with physical activations, including 12 international out-of-home displays. Fans were engaged through a Spotify-exclusive playlist, official tracklist reveals, merch drops, and Clips featuring Swift, keeping anticipation high in the weeks leading up to release.

To celebrate the achievement, Spotify has launched an immersive pop-up in New York City titled The Life of a Showgirl: A Spotify Experience. Running from September 30 to October 2, the event invites fans to explore interactive photo opportunities, discover hidden Easter eggs, and experience elements inspired by Swift’s new album.

Spotify also announced a new feature to increase transparency for pre-release campaigns. Starting September 29, daily pre-save counts for the global Top 10 Countdown Pages will be published in its Upcoming Releases hub, along with a refreshed weekly chart every Wednesday.

The streaming platform highlighted the impact of Countdown Pages, noting albums launched at least a week before release nearly double pre-saves compared to later campaigns. Additionally, one in seven pre-savers typically becomes a super listener during release week.

Swift’s achievement underscores her influence in shaping streaming-era music consumption, while further cementing her reputation as a record-breaking artist.
