Mariah Carey appeared uncomfortable when asked about co-parenting her 14-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with ex-husband Nick Cannon during a recent interview on “CBS Mornings.” Host Gayle King inquired how Carey manages co-parenting given Cannon’s highly public life.

Carey responded cautiously, saying, “I kinda feel like it’s best if I don’t talk about him because he can just be in his own world,” adding, “No offense to him.”

Her brief remark quickly went viral on social media, with users reacting to Carey’s apparent reluctance to discuss Cannon. Comments ranged from humor to criticism, reflecting mixed public opinion on their co-parenting dynamic. One Instagram user joked, “We all embarrassed by our baby daddy chile,” while another noted, “She doesn’t want this serial baby daddy tied to her brand.”

Carey, 56, and Cannon, 44, finalized their divorce in 2016. Since then, Cannon has expanded his family, welcoming 10 children with five different women. Recently, Cannon addressed his behavior following their split, describing it as a “trauma response.” Speaking on “The Breakfast Club,” he called his past actions “careless” and “frivolous,” explaining that he used impulsive decisions as a way to cope with the emotional aftermath of the divorce. “If I would have did the work, the healing, after getting divorced, I probably would have took my time in a lot other scenarios,” Cannon admitted. He reflected on how avoiding the root of his trauma led to ongoing issues rather than resolution.

Carey has largely kept her distance from publicly commenting on Cannon’s personal life. Their complex relationship continues to draw attention, especially as both navigate co-parenting while living very different lives in the public eye.
