Mariah Carey’s latest music video for her new single Type Dangerous is turning heads—especially with the surprise appearance (and quick disappearance) of YouTube sensation MrBeast.

Directed by Joseph Kahn, the visual dropped just a week after the song’s release and showcases Carey in her signature diva mode, dispatching men who waste her time.

The “Type Dangerous” video unfolds in seven theatrical acts. Mariah appears in a glamorous evening gown, delivering lines like “I don’t have time for the rigamarole,” while elegantly eliminating various “types” of men—Mr. Player, Mr. Danger, Mr. Traitor, Mr. Racer, Mr. Dealer—and finally, MrBeast himself, who appears in Act 7. With a snap and some glittery visual effects, she makes the YouTuber disappear on cue.

The single’s lyrics emphasize Carey’s love for thrill and refusal to tolerate nonsense: “I’ve never been afraid of love / That’s why I like ’em dangerous.”

The video blends old-school glamour with Mariah’s trademark wit, nodding to her legacy while teasing what’s to come. Carey hasn’t released a full album since 2018’s Caution, which hit the top 5 on the Billboard 200. She’s hinted that her long-anticipated MC16 album may be nearing release.

Earlier this year, Carey also celebrated the 20th anniversary of her landmark album The Emancipation of Mimi, releasing a deluxe edition filled with remixes, bonus tracks, and rare cuts.

Fans can now stream the “Type Dangerous” video and see how MrBeast’s cameo ends—with a very Mariah-style exit.
